Using firmware version 6.16.02i, I can connected to a bluetooth remote control successfully. But nothing happen when pressed a remote button. Also tested a remote with my mobile phone, it works great. Is there anyone know how to fix it? Please advise.

When downloading a firmware update, let's say the 6.12.02, the file will be named 'firmware_0.6.16.02.bin'
It's important that you rename the file in 'firmware.bin', without the version number. Otherwise, the camera won't detect the update at startup
After you rename the file in 'firmware.bin', just boot the camera and the update process will start ;)

6.17.01 or 6.17.01i

New firmware update via the app

1. Update the app
2. Open the app and download the update BEFORE connecting the cam.
Close the app

3. Insert freshly formated 8-16gb micro SD card into cam, turn on and connect to the app

red light while charging no power on!!
hello guys
recently i have upgraded to the new frameware v0.6.16.0.2 i version. when i try to charge the camera it keeps on and off. i don't kno why. when i try to reset the action cam. boom it never turned onn , while charging it shows only red light even on pc, no detection even by direct usb too. suddenly i found the camera fixed for some moment, i took the sd and the battery out. holding the shutter button i put the battery , it turned on but no permanent fix. it keeps on happening. so i tried to downgrade the frameware. i put the v0.6.15.0.5 with force_fw.txt. but when i try to onn the camera again. it made some weird noise and no it came back to the red light situation again. now it doesn't turn on either by the battery trick what to do. help me

latest firmware is 0.6.16.02
there is a different process if you wish to downgrade from this - (if you don't like it)
you must go back to v0.6.15.05 first
and include txt file ...... rollback.txt ..... and the ...... 0.6.16.02 .... firmware.bin

then use the txt file ...... force_fw.txt
and any older firmware file ....... firmware.bin

Latest firmware
Hi everyone
I managed to get the beta latest one to install but it refuses to read the latest actual firmware now?? is this beta as good as the legit one or am I ok just running this - just wondered what people were using and how stable it is and if the extra features were seen as a real life improvement?

V0.6.14.02_beta vs V0.6.15.05 FPS

A: ...4k/30 and 4k/25 the difference is between PAL and NTSC in V0.6.15.05

it's my understanding that whilst the beta is posted on the FIMI site - it's not an official beta made by FIMI, but by a trusted contributor
as of August 2108, no more news about anything from FIMI - so maybe that's it for development with this model ??

V0.6.14.02_beta vs V0.6.15.05 FPS

Useful site, but it would be helpful if you could elaborate more on the differences between versions.

I would expect V0.6.15.05 to be the next stable version including all features from the previous (beta) release V0.6.14.02_beta.
However it seems that the latest release has lower FPS than the earlier beta:

V0.6.14.02_beta - 4k@30FPS, 1080P@120FPS
V0.6.15.05 - 4k@25FPS, 1080P@100FPS

So either this means that:
(A) during beta testing they figured out that 4k@30fps doesn't work well on this camera and reduced the frame rate in the stable .15 release... or
(B) there is some other logic to these differences in features between releases.

If (A) then that's good to know and I just use the more stable version (giving up some FPS). If (B) it would be helpful to understand.

Perhaps someone can elaborate?

You need to use DirectUSB 2.2.28.0 on a windows PC, and use the correct recovery .elf file
and short-circuit pins in microsd slot, these are JUST inside the door / battery compartment.

to install the program you need to "disable windows driver signature" , search for how to do this, or even better - dig out an old XP PC to skip this process
ELF file.

xiami mijia 4k bricked ...
Hello,
I have followed your setup and tried an updated firmware with the latest firmware available here, and the result is that my cam is not booting anymore. Could you please let me know how to enter in boot/recovery mode, or even a factory flash mode.
And you should take care to the firmware file, may be there are hardware revisions you don't know.
Please help...

How-to: force a firmware upgrade or downgrade
Open configuration options
If your camera does not detect the firmware upgrade file on its SD card, or if you want to downgrade the firmware version, create an empty text file named force_fw.txt at the root of the SD card, next to the firmware.bin file.
